About Gisborne Cabs
Based in Gisborne, we provide reliable and hassle free taxi cab and hire- car services. Covering Gisborne and the surrounding area.
Before starting up Gisborne Cab Co in 2009 we ran SunRanges Taxis – 17 taxis – for over ten years. All drivers live in or around Gisborne and as well as being responsible are punctual and reliable.
Drivers and cabs are accredited and licenced through the Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria.

Should I pre-book my cab?
Where possible, yes please. The more notice we have, means that your booking is more likely to be fitted into the schedule – especially at busy times.
Can I book a Gisborne Cab if I’m only going locally?
Sure can. A minimum fare of $15 applies for a (up to 6 km) local booking, in or around Gisborne.
Outside of Gisborne, local or short distance fares will attract a $5/10km from Gisborne surcharge.
Can you cover late night or early morning bookings ?
Yes, depending upon the notice we receive. If we can’t cover a booking we will let you know.
Our Rates
Our rates are set to be the most affordable in the Macedon Ranges.
We have had the same rate of $2.20/km for the last seven or so years. Regrettably, due to rising costs of fuel, insurance, registration, repairs etc, our rates had to rise, by 9%. They are now $2.40/km and a $6.00 booking fee (plus, if applicable, CityLink tolls, airport parking and for bookings between midnight to 05:00 am a 20% surcharge).
No other charges like Fuel levies, Time charges or Surge pricing apply.
Please note: Outside of Gisborne, local or short distance fares will attract a $5/10km from Gisborne surcharge.
Do you charge a 5% surcharge for EFTPOS fare payments?
No … our credit card fare payments carry a 0% surcharge.
As I travel for business, my Company requires a proper Tax Invoice, preferably non-paper.
A tick to both boxes. We now use Square (contactless + chip reader), a user friendly eftpos device that sends you an email or/and sms Tax Invoice for ride. Done and dusted in seconds.
Are your cars yellow?
Definitely not.
Do we operate a maxi-taxi?
Sorry, all of our cars are four passenger sedans.
Do we operate a stretched limo ?
